The digitization is developing and transforming our everyday lives, our businesses and our society. The food industry is no exception.
The Danish food cluster has a unique base of data collected over decades, and robots and sensors have been used throughout the value chain of food production in many years. It has helped develop the Danish food production and made Denmark world renowned for its efficiency and high degree of food safety.
Digitization and the technological quantum leap made these years represents great opportunity for the Danish food cluster to move even further. Digitization can help improve and optimize food production – creating growth with input and less environmental impact. The Danish food cluster is able to develop digital solutions and turn this know-how into export success. And digitization can be a way to get closer to the consumers – and vice versa.
To set a course for and support digital growth in the food industry, Danish Agriculture & Food Council(Landbrug & Fødevarer) set up Panel for Digital Growth in the Food Cluster.
The panel’s task has been to create a vision for digital growth in the food cluster and provide concrete recommendations on how the vision is redeemed.
The vision and recommendations was published this Monday – September 18.
“It’s no use closing your eyes to the changes. We need to constantly keep up and try to influence the process.”
