Safe AI will be at the top of the agenda at DTU’s High Tech Summit in 2018.
A group of Nordic researchers supports a proposal for an intergovernmental European Lab for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) in an open letter to the governments of Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. In the letter, the group stresses the need to put AI on the political agenda in Europe. The researchers urge the political leaders of the Nordic countries to support the European initiative inspired by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. It comes just after a group of professors from the DTU has recommended the Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science Tommy Ahlers to lead Denmark into the next digital revolution with “Safe AI – made in Denmark” based on safe and open solutions.
“It’s no use closing your eyes to the changes. We need to constantly keep up and try to influence the process.”
Professor Jan Madsen, DTU Compute
